Horizon by Jane Hoople, Artist, 2004 Medium: Acrylic, 11" x 14" Availability:
Available I drive a lot, and spend far too much time surveying the landscapes horizon. Makes me wonder what is over each distant line of eyesight, all the things that are there that we cannot see. I remember in grade school being quite stubborn about insisting that the sky does meet the ground, and we should all paint it that way. This was back when my classmates were painting a strip of blue at the top of the page for sky, and a strip of green at the bottom of the page for grass. I remember Mrs. Warwick being very upset that I would argue with her about such a "silly notion". I think she was worried about my using too much paint, personally. The sky meets the ground. As soon as it doesn't, we'll all be in big trouble. |
