Boca Grande Banyon Tree
by Jane Hoople, Artist, 2005

Medium:  Acrylic

Size:  30"w x 40"h

Another of my new series of paintings, this one from Boca Grande, where the banyon trees there - 100's of year old - were desimated in the 2004 hurricanes. It was so sad to see, even after 6 months the branches had not even begun to grow back yet. However, they were quietly rebounding, and the regrowth is visible. They will be mighty once again.

It's really nice to see the people of the island all chipping in to care for these trees too, as they are all concerned with their environment. It's a solid community of good people, regardless of race or background.
