Another one of my life drawings, done at NPCC. This pose really struck me, it was the desolation and sheer exhaustion in her spirit, and perhaps the previous eight hours at work of my own that coloured this portrait.

She looked and felt like someone I know, and I know I captured the essence of both of them into the paper. I'm not sure either of them would thank me for it, though.

No solutions, just a swift contention that could impel a viewer to ask why. Or what. How is riposte in the title. Anything to jar us out of an apathetic response to individual pain.
