Jane is a direct descendant of the Hoople’s that originally settled Canada in 1784 in Southern Ontario at Hoople Creek, a tributary to the St. Lawrence River. A history and chronology of the family can be found in museums throughout Ontario. Jane’s paintings contemplate movement, form, colour, and time. Often the landscape is used to portray and discuss deeper issues of our multicultural communities and social responsibilities. Compressed by her brush, paintings come to life on canvas in a style that is as dynamic as it is significant. |
