As a group, the common element in our artwork is the love of nature.  What we would like to do is bring an early Spring indoors for the public at a time of year when the anticipation of spring is all that is reality:  outside, the snow will be just beginning to melt, there will still be snow flurries on and off every day, and the public of Toronto will be tired and finished with winter.  We invite you to come inside and see Spring in our landscapes and nature paintings.  As always, Spring is a time of rebirth and revitalization.

ARTISTS

Jane Hoople, an Etobicoke Artist and member of both the Etobicoke Art Group & Neilson Park Creative Centre, is a painter of contemporary landscapes.  Jane’s vision of the landscape is one where the passion of nature takes priority over the details.  These paintings highlight the colour, symmetry and balance of our natural surroundings, and aspire to convey the feeling of movement in a moment in time.  Jane's belief is that contemporary artwork today is enjoying an evolution from the understanding and perception of traditional form, and her work is a part of that.

Jane works primarily in acrylics on canvas, in addition to mixed media and collage.

Tim Hough, a Toronto based artist, works primarily with nature themes, wildlife and other animals.  He is well known for his photo-realist style and to capture the essence of his subjects.  "I am interested in landscapes, wildlife and domestic animals, environmental as well as human issues."

He works in a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, tempera and watercolour.  See more of Tim's work at http://www.timhough.com

Charles Weiss, a working Toronto Artist, is a painter and sculptor working primarily with wildlife and sportsfish.  Charles’ work is influenced by the eternal power of nature.  “My favorite subjects are dramatic underwater situations; I've seen the fleeting shapes of fish and stood on the shore as the waves roll in, feeling the wind whipping my face and the sting of blackflies in the tranquil calm."  Charles work can also be see at http://www.natureartists.com under C. Weiss.

An accomplished magazine illustrator, Charles has created drawings and paintings for Sporting Classics, Outdoor Canada, Musky Hunter, Real Fishing, and Ontario Out Of Doors.
